Prep School: Decor Inspiration for a Summer White Party

Tuesday’s post provided inspiration for recipes to make for a sumptuous summer send-off, including a Pineapple Mojito White Sangria (seriously can’t wait to make it). In today’s post, I’ve pulled together decor inspiration to help you say goodbye to summer in style. The palette I chose includes low-key neutrals inspired by the great outdoors: pea, white, and natural.

My dream when we own a house is to hang lights in our backyard over the patio. If you’re planning on your event going into the evening, lighting will really help transform the space. And if you’re outside, you have to have citronella candles! The ones I found are a great neutral color and go well with the white and natural theme of this white party. The string balls are an easy weekend project and remind me of the craft projects in elementary school. These wouldn’t be that hard and would make a background for pictures. I also love jasmine. It’s a great flower / plant that can take up space with it’s long limbs and it also smells heavenly. Finally, the burlap or jute cloth is very popular right now as “vintage” or “rustic” is a current trend in events and it pairs well with the casual, outdoor vibe for this theme.

I hope this inspiration board provides some helpful ideas for you, whether you’re hosting a casual backyard party or something more sophisticated and chic. Have you planned a white party? How did you decorate for it?
